In an interesting development, Delhi Police arrested a young man aged 19 and identified as Adnan Khurram, who was a medical aspirant, for impersonating as an AIIMS doctor for the past five months.

Adnan Khurram is said to have used a fake identity and made friends across departments and also among medical students.

When Delhi Police arrested him, they were in for a surprise when they learnt of his ‘knowledge’ of medicines, the names of doctors and department heads at AIIMS.

Police said Khurram was charged under sections 419 (impersonation) and 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating) of the Indian Penal Code at Hauz Khas Police Station.

Khurram is a native of Bihar.
