Popular actor Vankayala Satyanarayana Murthy, who has acted in 200 films including three Tamil and three Hindi movies, died this morning in Visakhapatnam
In his childhood he studied in Canadian Baptist Missionaries (CBM) in Vizag. He once said, “My father and my brothers have also studied at the same school.”
Before entering the film industry, Satyanarayana acted in several state plays and won numerous awards. He entered the Telugu film industry in 1974 through the film ‘needa leni aadadi’, which was directed by P Sambasiva Rao.
Some of the popular films he had acted in include Station Master, Seeta Maa Salkhmi, Sutradharulu, Srinivasa Kalyanam, Subhalekha, Donga Kodllu, Oorikichinna Mata, Kukka Katuki Cheppu Debba, Shrutilayalu, Bahudoorapu Batasari and Athavarillu.
In addition to these films, he worked in a short film titled ‘Manasu’.
Satyanarayana, who was born and brought up in Visakhapatnam and then worked in the port city. After stepping out of the film industry, he settled in Vizag itself.
