14 people died in yesterday’s building collapse incident at Kumarhatti in Solan district in Himachal Pradesh. The deceased include 13 Army personnel and one civilian. All bodies have been recovered. In all, 28 people including 17 Army personnel and 11 civilians have been rescued and admitted in the nearby hospitals. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Jairam Thakur today visited the incident site and inquired about the health of the injured.
He said, a magisterial inquiry has already been ordered and guilty will be punished as per the law after getting the report. It may be recalled that the four-story building, which also housed a restaurant and was on the sliding zone, collapsed amidst rains last evening trapping at least 42 people including 30 Army personnel who had come to restaurant at that point of time.
