27.5% drop in Indian in issuance of US student visas

The number of student visas issued by the US to Indian students plunged by 27.5% in 2017, which is the largest drop among international students in the country.

The cause of the fall is being attributed to stricter admissibility rules mandated by President Donald Trump’s administration.

There are over 1.8 lakh students and Indians form the second largest group of foreign students in the US.
