At least 50 Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) alumni have resigned from their full-time jobs to form a political party named Bahujan Azad Party and have decided to fight for SC/ST and OBC rights.

The IIT alumni are waiting for the approval from the Election Commission of India. Meanwhile, they have already started a social media campaign in this connection.

The IIT alumni first aim to contest in Bihar Assembly elections in 2020 and later in Lok Sabha polls in 2024.
