Bihar Chief Minister and JDU leader Nitish Kumar has resigned as Chief Minister of Bihar and breaking the Mahagathbandhan alliance. Nitish seeking support from their old alliance party BJP to lead government in state. BJP supporting Nitish Kumar to form the new government in Bihar.
Today Nitish Kumar took oath as the chief minister of Bihar for the sixth time with the support of BJP within 14 hours after he resigned from the post. BJP’s Sushil Modi will be deputy chief minister of Bihar.
Nitish Kumar met Bihar Governor Keshri Nath Tripathi last night and asked to form a government with the support of BJP and other smaller parties. Sushil Modi said we have submitted a letter with support of 132 legislators out of 243 to the Governor.
After Nitish Kumar resignation Lalu Yadav said Tejashwi would not resign as the deputy CM in the Bihar government despite being caught in a corruption scandal. Tejashwi Yadav also met the Governor to try and stop this Nitish oath ceremony and the Governor welcomed the Nitish Kumar to form new government.
