The top leadership of the AIADMK including the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami today sat on a day-long fast in Chennai along with his partymen ‘condemning the Centre’ for not forming the Cauvery Management Board, which is in compliance with the Supreme Court order.

Along with Palaniswami, his deputy and AIADMK Coordinator O Panneerselvam sat on the fast at a venue in Chepauk.

In a statement, the AIADMK said the fast is to slam the central government for not forming the CMB.

In its February 16 judgment, the Supreme Court raised the 270 tmcft share of Karnataka state by 14.75 tmcft while reducing Tamil Nadu’s share of Cauvery water.
