The Andhra Pradesh government took a sensational decision on CBI by withdrawing the ‘General Consent’ orders prohibiting the entry of the CBI into the State for any sort of enquiry against the employees and officers of the Central government institutions. The withdrawal of these orders prevents the CBI to enter the State any further.
The government also authorised the State’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) to take up any corruption search against the Central government offices, in place of the CBI. Chandrababu Naidu had been criticising the Central government of misusing the CBI against the political rivals, against the TDP in Andhra Pradesh.
He had launched a battle against the BJP-led NDA government to save democracy. While his efforts continue, his government had closed the doors for CBI in the State. This, the TDP leaders believe, is a strong warning to the Central government.
