Bandh observed in Andhra Pradesh over special category status

The Andhra Pradesh State Bandh today went on peacefully demanding Special Category Status and Special Railway Zone. Thebandh call was given by the ‘Pratyeka Hoda Vibhajana Hameela Sadhana Samithi’ and was supported by the Telugu Desam Party.

Some of the political parties and student associations supported the bandh. While CPI and CPM activists organized bike rallies and protests in Visakhapatnam, Schools remained closed across the state. The Opposition YSR Party and Janasena parties kept themselves away from the bandh.
