BJP appoints Manikyala Rao as president of APBJP

In its bid to strengthen and cleanse its Andhra Pradesh wing counter the attacks from Telugu Desam Party, Bharatiya Janata Party’s high command today replaced its AP president Kambampati Haribabu with Manikyala Rao, BJP sources said.

The BJP also decided to induct Somu Veerraju and Kanna Lakshmi Narayana into National Committee and then give importance to younger leaders in the state.

Manikyala Rao has been in BJP since its inception and before that he was a member of the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak (RSS).

Till recently, Rao worked as the Endowment Minister in the TDP government.
