Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao today visited the Srimandir seeking blessings of Lord Jagannath in Odisha’s pilgrim town. Accompanied with wife, the TRS chief reached Puri in the morning and entered into the centuries-old shrine to offer prayer to Lord Jagannath after a landslide victory in assembly election earlier in the month.
CM KCR along with his family members received traditional welcome with ‘Poorna Kumbham’ by priests at the temple in Puri upon his arrival from Bhubaneshwar on Monday. He was in Puri to fulfil his vows and perform special puja to Lord Jagannath in the wake of his resounding victory in the recent Assembly polls. The Chief Minister performed special puja at Sri Sarada Peetham in Visakhapatnam on Sunday and had flown down to Bhubaneshwar to hold talks with his Odisha counterpart Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Niwas on the proposed federal front.
The duo were in agreement over the dire need for an alternative to Congress and BJP at the Centre and shared their views on working together with other like-minded regional parties. He will leave for Kolkata after paying obeisance to deities at Srimandir today.
