CME Held on Ovarian Aging, Other Issues

In order to understand and to discuss the means to tackle the issue of Ovarian Aging, Fertility Center at Birth Right by Rainbow Children’s Hospitals has organized a CME program on “Poor Ovarian Reserve” today at Madhapur here. More than 100 doctors  participated in the program that begun with a presentation on “Recent Trends in Ovarian Reserve” by Dr Preethi Reddy, Consultant – Infertility, Fertility Centre by Birth Right by Rainbow Hospitals

In her presentation, Dr Preethi Reddy has explained the various happenings in Ovarian Reserve especially among Indian Women. While presenting the facts and figures being presented by various studies on Indian Women vis a vis others, She expressed concern on decreasing capacity of producing fertile eggs in Indian Women. Further she warned that the study results are pointing to a tendency that gives feeling that Indian Women are designed to start and finish child bearing 30 years of age ideally.

This was followed by a lecture by Dr RLN Renuka on various types of Markers that includes old techniques and also new technological advances that are meant to understand exact reasoning for Ovarian Reserve. Later Dr. Pallavi Chalasani has explained the differences between Natural Conception to Donor Oocyte along with their advantages and disadvantages.

After these two lectures, the CME has concluded with a panel discussion on Management of Poor Ovarian Reserve – Challenges and Dilemmas that was moderated by Dr Ratna Durvasula and participated by Dr. L Jayanthi Reddy, Dr M Vidya Ranga Rao, Dr Varalakshmi Nandyala.

During the Discussion, Experts expressed worry over the recent research studies that found that Indian Women are attaining Ovarian Aging 4 to 5 years earlier than Western Women. Further it is also being observed that Ovarian Reserve is fast depleting among women is a reason to worry, they warn.

Speaking on this occasion Dr. Ratna Durvasula, Consultant Infertility, Fertility Centre by Birth Right by Rainbow Hospitals said  women must consult a doctor if they fail to conceive to understand the exact reasons.
