In the 21st Commonwealth Games at the Optus Aquatic Centre in Gold Coast, Australia today India’s swimmer Sajan Prakash qualified for the final of swimming men’s 200 metre Butterfly event.
Sajan timed 1:58.87 seconds to finish at the fifth spot in Heat 2 of the qualification round.
In the same event, England’s Jacob Peters topped the qualifications by clocking 1:58.42 seconds.
In the men’s 50 metre backstroke event, another Indian swimmer Srihari Nataraj entered the semi-finals.
Srihari recorded a time of 26.47 seconds to qualify in the ninth spot among 16 qualifiers.
The Indian finished third in Heat 1 behind Australia’s Mitch Larkin and Xavier Castelli of Wales.
