Tribal Welfare Minister Ajmira Chandulal today called upon the officials concerned to make persistent efforts for social and economic development of Tribal people in the State.
Speaking at a meeting of Tribal Development nodal agency at Welfare Bhavan, the minister asked the officials to focus more on Tribals’ welfare and development by using every rupee being released by the government through various schemes. He also promised to extend all financial support for the development of Tribals in education, jobs and other sectors. Fruits of development and labour should reach all sections of the Tribal community, he said.
The minister said the government’s aim was to bring the tribals into the mainstream and help them achieve equality socially and economically, he said. He exhorted the officials to focus on tribal villages by laying roads and improving the old roads for achieving fast growth in addition to providing basic facilities like transportation, water supply, power and others.
Of Rs 1332 cr allotted in budget Rs, 561 cr spent and Rs 1057 cr tribal village development, and spent Rs 253 cr so far he explained. Set targets and achieve the results in addition to spending Rs 212 cr for drinking water in these villages and make use of strengthening medical and health facilities by using Rs 181 Cr. Women and child development wing will discharge duties of supplying nutrient food and medicines in tribal villages he said
