DMK President MK Stalin rules out need for third front now

Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam President MK Stalin on Tuesday ruled out the need for an alternative front, without the Bharatiya Janata Party or the Congress. Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao called on DMK President MK Stalin yesterday in Chennai. The meeting at the residence of Mr Stalin lasted for over an hour.

Senior DMK leaders Duraimurugan and TR Baalu were also present during the meeting. It is reliably learnt that the current political situation in the country figured in the discussions between the two leaders. Mr Chandrasekhar Rao earlier offered special puja in the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple at Srirangam in Trichy.

TRS Chief also met his Kerala counterpart Mr Pinarayi Vijayan at Thiruvananthapuram and Janata Dal (Secular) leader Deve Gowda in Bengaluru last week. He is reportedly mobilizing support for the idea of the formation of a federal front post-Lok Sabha General Elections.
