Doctors go on 24-hour strike against NMC Bill in Telangana today

Medical services in Government and private hospitals except emergency services have been severely affected after Indian Medical Association’s call to stop medical services for 24 hours in Telangana. It is protesting the National Medical Commission Bill passed by the Lok Sabha on Monday. Junior doctors across Telangana have boycotted their duties at all major government hospitals and referral hospitals from 6 am on Wednesday.

Thousands of patients are facing inconvenience. Telangana Government Doctors’ Association working president Kalyan Chakravarthi alleged that the National Medical Council Bill will help the wealthy and private hospitals. He said the medical services in rural areas will be hampered due to the new bill.
