E-Vehicles To Lift Garbage In Hyderabad

While inaugurating the modern air-conditioned bus shelter at Khairatabad and Kukatpally on Thursday, municipal administration and urban development (MAUD) minister K T Rama Rao made an announced that the existing garbage collection vehicles will be replaced with electric vehicles in a phased manner.

The minister added,”The government is striving hard to make the city pollution-free by taking up various initiatives. Along with GHMC vehicles, around 3,000 vehicles belonging to the state road transport corporation will also be replaced with electronics vehicles.”

The first batch of 20 electric vehicles for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will be flagged off on Friday. The civic body, officials said, has signed an agreement with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (ESSL) to execute the project on a pilot basis.
