The ED has issued a lookout notice against former finance minister P Chidambaram after failing to locate him. The CBI and the ED are on the lookout for him, who continues to remain untraceable. Meanwhile, Chidambaram’s lawyer has requested the probe agencies not to take any action till a hearing at the Supreme Court. The officers from the CBI had visited Mr.Chidambaram’s Jor Bagh residence but the former minister was not available there.
Then the team of officials returned to his residence and pasted a notice asking former minister to appear before R Parthasarthy, CBI Deputy Superintendent of Police, who is probing the case to record his statement under Section 161 of the CrPC. Earlier, Delhi High Court refused Chidambaram to grant any protection from arrest by the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate in the INX Media case.
