Three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Sopore this morning. A soldier was injured in this encounter. Three AK-74 rifles were recovered from terrorists.
Two of the three terrorists have been identified as Javid Ahmad Dar and Abid Hamid Mir. The third terrorist is yet to be identified.
The encounter began late last night after terrorists opened fire on the patrol party carrying out a search operation in North Kashmir’s Amargharh area after receiving information about the presence of terrorists.
This is the first time that AK-74 rifles have been recovered. These are the latest weapons. This encounter shows that these weapons are being sent into Indian Territory by Pakistan.
The entire area in Sopore has been handover by the security forces and combing operations. All schools and colleges have been closed for today and Internet services have also been suspended in this area.
