The Hyderabad’s Market Police on Monday arrested Former MLA and senior Telangana Congress leader K Jagga Reddy for allegedly carrying a fake passport and a visa. It is alleged that Reddy, who is the strongman of the Sangareddy district, visited the United States on fake documents. According to Police, Reddy had travelled with a woman and a child to the US in 2004. He had claimed they were his wife and child. Later it was found that he had submitted fake documents to show them as his family.
He has been arrested under charges of human trafficking and other relevant sections. The Congress condemned the arrest and alleged that the caretaker TRS government in the state is misusing its power by arresting opposition leaders on flimsy grounds. Jagga Reddy who was taken to Gandhi hospital for formal medical tests responded on his arrest and stated that CM KCR and minister Harish Rao have made this arrest to make the TRS candidate win in Sanga Reddy. Jagga Reddy also questioned the timing of his arrest in 2004 case. The former Congress leader will be produced before the court on Tuesday.
