Expressing displeasure at being denied party ticket, former MP and senior leader in Adilabad district Ramesh Rathod quit the TRS party. As Ramesh Rathod was upset with Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for not allocating Khanapur Assembly constituency ticket, he resigned from the TRS. He had joined the TRS a year ago from the TDP. Ramesh Rathod expected the TRS supremo would give him Khanapur ticket but KCR announced the name of sitting MLA Rekha Naik. Rathod has the political rivalry with Rekha Naik.
Ramesh Rathod would join the Congress in Gandhi Bhavan on Friday. He might contest for Khanapur constituency on Congress ticket. Several aspirants for tickets in the coming assembly polls in Telangana have openly expressed their dissatisfaction after being denied the chance to contest, while some others are switching sides leading to re-alignment. The protests by those denied tickets have so far been seen mainly in the ruling TRS as the party released its first list of candidates for 105 seats out of the total 119 assembly segments.
