Heavy Rainfall In Mumbai

Monsoon has touched in Mumbai and according to reports, heavy rain in Mumbai has delayed several trains & a Fet Airways flight from London has been diverted to Ahmedabad.

From Dadar, Parel, Cuff Parade, Bandra, Borivali & Andheri flooded roads have been reported. Disaster management authorities have warned about very heavy rainfall over the next 24 hours.

Many trains were forced to wait as power supply was disrupted. They are running late by 15-20 minutes on the Mumbra Thane line.

Navy personnel are being posted at areas like Trombay, Worli, Malad, Colaba, Ghatkopar for flood rescue. Officers have been asked to keep schools open at all times for the shelter during possible flooding.

In the year 2005, Mumbai faced its worst civic nightmare which left thousands dead in Maharashtra.
