HRD sets up panel to prevent CBSE exam paper leaks

In view of the recent Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) paper leak incident, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) constituted a high powered committee to study the CBSE Class X and Class XII examination system to prevent the possibility of paper leakages.

Ministry of HRD has appointed Retd. Secretary (Higher Education) of MHRD Vinay Sheel Oberoi as the chairperson of the 7-member panel.

The committee’s prime objective is to revisit all aspects connected to the security checks built into the system for ensuring the question papers to reach the examinees tamper-free.

The panel will further be responsible to study and assess all areas of potential weakness in the current system of transporting the question papers from the printing presses to the examination halls and then to the examinees.

After due diligence, the panel has been mandated to recommend ways to make the examination system more secure with the minimization of human intervention and use of improved technology.
