The Aamir Khan-Amitabh Bachchan film that is touted to be the biggest project, opened to a record-breaking Rs 50 crore in the beginning but has witnessed a downward turn slowly. The film received a mixed response and turned out to be a big disappointment. Critics as well as audience trashed it and the movie was trolled mercilessly on social media.
Shah Rukh Khan, in an interview, was asked about Thugs of Hindostan’s turning out to be a big flop. Shah Rukh Khan came out in support of the film and stated that it’s saddening that people are trolling the movie. He then went on to praise the film, the effort that went behind it and his good friend Aamir Khan as well Amitabh Bachchan
“It’s a little personal and I don’t know whether it’s right to say it or not. This is something that’s saddened me and so I want to share it. Mr Bachchan and Aamir have been people who have constantly contributed to the excellence of cinema. Now if a film of theirs (Thugs of Hindostan) doesn’t reach the level that you expected it to, does it take away from what they have done for cinema?”
