Andhra Pradesh has been experiencing incessant rainfall for the last 3 days. The Cyclone Warning Centre (CWC), Visakhapatnam said strong surface winds from easterly direction with speed reaching 45 to 50 Kilometers per hour are likely along and off North coastal Andhra Pradesh and strong surface winds from westerly direction with speed reaching 45 to 50 Kilometers per hour are likely along and off South Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
The winds are due to the influence of a well-marked low pressure area over West Central Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast. The CWC warns that the sea would be rough to very rough along and off coastal Andhra Pradesh. Fishermen are advised not to venture into sea along and off coastal Andhra Pradesh. Heavy rain fall has been registered yesterday in North Coastal and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
As per Dr. Nagaratna, of IMD, Hyderabad, there would be moderate and heavy rainfall in Andhra Pradesh. Heavy rain fall has been recorded in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam of North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and East and West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur and Sri Potti Sriramulu Districts of Andhra Pradesh.
