India eye semi-finals place of ICC Women’s T20 World cup

Eyeing a place in the semi-finals of the ICC Women’s World T20 2018, the Indian women’s cricket team faces Ireland in a bid to secure a spot among the last four. The match at the Providence Stadium in Guyana sees a high-flying Indian side take on the lowest ranked team in the tournament.

The women in Blue have seen at least one player rising to the occasion and taking the team home. While it was Harmanpreet Kaur who bagged a century in the opening fixture against New Zealand, Mithali Raj used her experience with a half-century against Pakistan in the next match.

In their previous match, Ireland faced a massive 9-wicket defeat to the hands of Australia, having managed only 93/6 in their 20 overs. Ireland are required to win all of their remaining matches to secure a spot in the semi-finals.
