The railways is at present infusing $130-billion into its modernisation plan.
Seeing the response from the job applicants, the railways meanwhile increased the vacancies by about 20,000.
The railways plans to induct more than 9,000 persons into the Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF).
It also plans to create an additional 10,000 jobs under the L-1 and L-2 categories.
