The mass hysteria and high-pitched screaming that characterised Superstar Rajinikanth’s fan following spread nationwide as the hype and insane frenziness marked the release of his latest film 2.0 in about 10,000 screens across India and abroad.
The long-awaited sequel to the 2010 blockbuster Robot by director S Shankar has been released today. Director Shankar has said that Arnold Schwarzenegger was initially approached to play the second lead in 2.0 considering the universal appeal of the story.
However, Arnold could not make it to the project. Shankar then decided to cast Kamal Haasan and approached him along with writer Jeyamohan. But Kamal was interested in Indian 2 and not 2.0. Finally, the offer went to Akshay Kumar.
