Jadugar Anand’s daredevilry enthralls Hyderabadis

World-renowned Magician Jadugar Anand hosted the most spectacular show of daredevilry ‘Great Blast Escape’, on Saturday at Hari Hara Kala Bhavan, Secunderabad. The breath-taking performance involved a person locked in chains, handcuffed, escapes unscathed, from a speeding car crashing into the wooden box with him in.

It began with the man being brought to the center stage in-front of a huge gathering of spectators eager to witness the most amazing escape. He was initially chained, handcuffed, locked and sealed in a wooden box. Later the box was placed on a platform. The time was ticking as a huge gathering of kids and elders were watching with bated breath. Even before they realized what was going on, a speeding car crashed into the site, with the box being blown to smithereens. The audience seemed to be petrified at the thought of the imminent death of the man involved in the act.

However during those crucial seconds prior to the crash, the man had unchained himself and popped out of the box a zillionth of a second before the fatal accident and escaped unscathed, giving a great sigh of relief to the baffled spectators.

Speaking about the astonishing act, Jadugar Anand said, it has inherent risks and can be very dangerous, but the perfection brought in planning, coordination and timing is what makes it a walkover. The twin cities have never witnessed a performance of this magnitude before, he adds.

Who is Jadugar Anand

The world-famous magician, Anand became Jadugar Anand at a tender age of 7 years. Born in Jabalpur on 3rd of January, 1952, Anand turned out to be a true prodigy. Ignoring every obstacle in his way, he kept moving upwards. Self-learned to the core, Anand is courage and determination personified.

And his efforts paid off in the year 1978 at Hollywood, where he bettered the best of the World’s best magicians and was awarded The Gold Medal. Again, in the year 1980 at Brussels, he repeated the feat and was titled “The Grand Prix”. And he stamped over all the stiffest competition from the best magicians of 150 countries globally, at Montreal in the year1982 to be awarded “Magi of the East”. At the age of 19, he broke the World Record for UNDERWATER ESCAPE when he escaped from a box in which he was sealed and thrown in the river Narmada at Jabalpur. At the age of 22, he rode a 250cc motorcycle BLINDFOLDED, from Indore to Bhopal, a distance of 200 kilometres in just under 180 minutes, creating another World Record in the process. A master of Telepathy, he is known far and wide to send mental messages hundreds of kilometres away to his medium.

Anand’s talents and achievements were duly recognized in all the advanced countries of the world. He has performed more than 27000 shows in more than 36 countries of the Americans, Europe, Aisa, Australia and Africa which itself is a World Record for a maximum number of shows performed by any magician ever. Currently the National President of All India Magic Federation, Anand is seen by the fraternity as the last hope for the dying art of magic. He dreams of building a Magic Academy of global standards in the capital of every province of our country, India. It pains him that the government has largely ignored magic as an art. He appeals for more support at least in form of some Tax waivers for this art. None of his achievements or fame has touched Anand. He remains a down-to-earth person who never forgot his roots. He is hard-working and god fearing. He worships India and its diversities and is just another Proud Indian when not on stage.
