Jharkhand assembly elections to be held in 5 phases from November 30

Election Commission has announced five-phase poll schedule for 81 seats in Jharkhand State Assembly. Speaking to reporters in New Delhi yesterday, Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora said, a total of 13 Assembly Constituencies will go to polls in the first phase for which polling will be held on 30th of November.

Second phase polling will be held on 7th of December which includes 20 seats, third phase for 17 seats on 12th December, fourth phase for 15 seats on 16th December while the polling for fifth phase for 16 seats will be held on 20th of December. Mr Arora said, the counting of votes will be taken up together on 23rd of December.

He said that recently after the amendment in the conduct of Election Rules, all the senior citizens above 80 years of age and Persons with Disability will have the option of voting either by Postal Ballot or by voting at their respective Polling Stations.
