Jumbos inside the Palamau Tiger Reserve in Jharkhand will soon be taught the phonetic patterns of Hindi as the elephants are facing trouble in obeying commands in the language.

The Jharkhand elephants, which were shifted from Karnataka’s Bandipur National Park last month, only understand phonetic patterns of Kannada. Therefore, this decision to train the jumbos in Hindi.

Once trained, the jumbos will be used for the purpose of patrolling at the reserve and will be part of the safari expeditions.
