Johnny Depp has been axed from the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise. The 55-year-old has played ‘Jack Sparrow’ in the films for the past 15 years, but he will reportedly no longer be part of the films as Disney Studios plan a reboot. The studio has also claimed that Depp was difficult to work within the last film, arriving late to sets and delaying production.
Speaking about his exit, Scriptwriter Stuart said: “I think he’s had a great run. Obviously, he’s made that character his own and it’s become the character he’s most famous for now. And kids all over the world love him as that character.” Johnny’s last “Pirates of the Caribbean” was “Dead Men Tell No Tales” in 2017, which was the lowest performing of the five films. As for the future of the franchise, there are early talks that the ‘Deadpool’ movie creators could be writing the next Pirates story.
