KTR’s son Himanshu wins gold medal in Behtar India campaign

Kalvakuntla Himanshu Rao, son of TRS working president KT Rama Rao, has secured the first position in the Behtar India campaign organised by DHFL Pramerica Life Insurance Co. Ltd. Himanshu, a class 8 student from Oakridge International School, Hyderabad, earned the distinction by collecting 29,482 kg of recyclable waste.

In the school category, Oakridge International School, Gachibowli bagged the bronze trophy by collecting 34,137 kg of recyclable waste. The campaign ambassador, actress Parineeti Chopra, presented Himanshu with the gold medal and a bronze trophy to Oakridge International School at the grand finale of Behtar India campaign held at New Delhi on Thursday.

Himanshu’s achievement is an inspiring story of a class 8 student who went to great lengths to achieve this milestone. He collected newspapers, notebooks, books and other recyclable material from his school and neighbourhood. During the entire course of the activity, his teachers inspired and helped him, making him understand the importance of sustainability and environment protection.
