Indian wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav has moved up a notch to grab a career-best second position in the ICC rankings for Twenty-20 bowlers. Kuldeep scalped two for 26 in the final T-20 against New Zealand recently, which ultimately India lost by four runs to go 2-1 down in the 3-match series.
There is no other Indian bowler in the top-10. Another Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal dropped six places to be 17th, while paceman Bhuvneshwar Kumar maintained his 18th rank. Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan leads the rankings. In the rankings for batsmen, Rohit Sharma swapped three places with Lokesh Rahul. Rohit is now at seventh, while Rahul has slipped to the 10th spot.
Shikhar Dhawan has gained a place to be 11th. Skipper Virat Kohli’s absence from the series against the Kiwis forced him to drop four places to be jointly 19th with Zimbabwe’s Hamilton Masakadza. The batting chart is headed by Pakistani batsman Babar Azam. In the Team rankings, despite the defeat to New Zealand, India maintained its second position behind leaders Pakistan.
