A total of 1.43 crore voters of the national capital will cast their votes on 12th of this month out of which over 78 lakh are male, 64 lakh female and 669 are third gender. Delhi Chief Electoral Officer, CEO, Dr Ranbir Singh stated this while briefing media in Delhi on Friday. He said, there are a total of 13,819 polling booths in 2700 buildings across the capital and 1,44,207 polling persons will be deployed there.
Mr Singh said, 523 polling booths have been categorised as critical where all necessary measures, including videography and others are being taken to ensure smooth voting. The CEO informed that nearly 60,000 para-military and 39,000 Delhi Police personnel have been deployed to ensure that no illegal activity takes place during voting. Mr Singh further added that the total seizures ahead of the elections amount to 421 crore and 68 lakh rupees.
