Man commits suicide by jumping from Ameerpet Metro Station

An unidentified man allegedly committed suicide by jumping down from the Metro Station at Maitrivanam in Ameerpet on Thursday morning. According to SR Nagar Police, the man suddenly jumped down from the first floor of Ameerpet Metro Station towards the compound wall of Sarathi studio side and committed suicide. As he got severe injuries, the man died on the spot.


Efforts are on to identify the victim. The body has been shifted to Gandhi hospital mortuary and the Police are investigating the incident. The reason behind the suicide of the man was yet to be ascertained. This is the second such incident in this month after Metro rail was launched in Hyderabad.

On Tuesday, a woman, due to the family disputes, attempted suicide by jumping down from the concourse level of the Victoria Memorial Metro Station at Kothapet. Luckily the woman survived with only minor injuries in the incident.
