Mary Kom confident of doing well in India Open International Boxing

Ace Indian pugilist MC Mary Kom will begin her campaign of the Second India Open International Boxing tournament at Guwahati, Assam today. In her first competitive bout in the new 51 kg category, Mary Kom will face Nepal’s Mala Rai.

Mary Kom had won a Bronze in the 48 kg category at the 2012 London Olympics. 48 kg division is now no longer there in the Olympic Games, and the veteran Manipur boxer will have to fight in the higher 51 kg if she wants to compete in next year’s Tokyo Games.
