Mixed reactions from students on JEE Main 2018

Almost 12 lakh students had appeared for the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main 2018 that was conducted on Sunday by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) across various centers in the country.

The JEE (main) examination evoked mixed reactions from students and here are some of the reactions after the exam.

Mahendra Patel, students who appeared in the exam at YMCA Centenary School and College, Allahabad said the paper cannot be described as easy or tough. However, the Mathematics portion was exhausting due to the complex nature of the questions.

Adarsh Kumar, a resident of Faizabad district of Uttar Pradesh said the Physics portion of the paper, which was not in accordance to Class 11 and Class 12 syllabus, was really tough compared to questions of Chemistry and Mathematics.

Saurabh Shukla, a resident of Allahabad, agreed with Adarsh Kumar and confirmed that the physics questions were tough.

In Bhopal, a class 12 student Ishita Pawan said except for 3-4 questions the question paper quite easily. Also, the pattern of the paper was similar to the 2017’s paper.

Another student Shaksham Sharma confirmed that the physics was the tougher and most of the questions were asked from the syllabus of Class 11.

Meanwhile, a teacher of a reputed institute said, overall, the paper was of moderate difficulty level. Questions in the Chemistry portion were lengthy and some students found the questions of organic chemistry difficult. And, the cut-off marks will be similar to that of last year.

In Mumbai, students like Sumit Vyas said the Mathematics section was the lengthiest. Most of the students were unable to attempt the full section as several questions were time-consuming.

Many students are planning to challenge such questions with the CBSE that conducted the exam.
