Most TDP MLAS urge Chandrababu to pull out of NDA

Except for six legislators out of the total 102 MLAs of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh are said to have been favouring severing ties with the BJP-led NDA for the ‘injustice’ being done to the state.

It may be recalled that TDP president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had recently held an opinion poll among the MLAs and MLCs on the position to be adopted towards the the BJP-led central government.

Chandrababu is believed to have given three options to the legislators, i.e. breaking ties, to show patience and to continue the fight by remaining in the NDA.

The opinion poll took place during a meeting of the TDP legislature party in Amaravati on March 6.

With the centre ruling out the possibility of a Special Category Status (SCS) to AP and a grant of SCS to any state, Chandrababu said, “The Centre is firm against extending any help to the state.

Following the outcome of the survey, Chandrababu is believed to said that he will reveal his stand during his reply to the debate on Governor’s address today.
