Nationwide GST Stakeholder Feedback Day (Diwas) to be observed today

GST collection in July stands at Rs 1,02,083 crore

Nationwide GST Stakeholder Feedback Diwas for new GST returns will be observed on Saturday. The aim of organizing this event is to get an on-the-spot response to the new GST Returns to be introduced from 1st of April next year. Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, CBIC Chairman Pranab Kumar Das said, the focus will be on assessing the ease of compliance and uploading of these new returns. He said, this is being done so that the traders do not face any difficulty when the returns are made legally mandatory.

Mr Das said, these feedback sessions will be attended by all prominent chambers of commerce and industry and other organizations representing taxpayers and tax practitioners and compliance managers. He said, this is the first time after introduction of GST that taxpayers consultation is being done on such a large scale.

On 16th of last month, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had invited some GST taxpayers, Chartered Accountants and Tax practitioners to assess first-hand the response to the various GST returns especially the new returns to be introduced. Finance Ministry has requested all GST stakeholders to actively participate in these feedback sessions in their nearest Central GST and State GST Office across the country.
