Obstacles cleared for AR Murugadoss ‘Sarkar’ movie

Sarkar was embroiled in a plagiarism controversy when writer and assistant director Varun Rajendran alleged that AR Murugadoss had copied his story Sengol to make the Vijay-starrer. He filed a petition with the Madras High Court asking Murugadoss and Sun Pictures to give him due credit and remuneration of Rs 30 lakhs.

There were reports that Varun Rajendran and AR Murugadoss decided to settle the issue out of court. Now, sources say that the Kaththi director has agreed to acknowledge the similarity in the script of Sarkar and Varun’s Sengol in the film’s credit.
