Petrol, diesel prices dropped for the fifth straight day on Monday on softening global crude oil prices, bringing relief to the consumer who has been reeling under high fuel prices since last two months. Petrol prices were slashed by 30 paise to Rs 81.34 per litre in Delhi, while diesel prices were cut 27 paise to Rs 74.92 per litre.
In Mumbai, petrol got a price cut of 30 paise to retail at Rs 86.91 per litre, while diesel is being sold at Rs 78.54 per litre after a 28 paise cut. Fuel prices have been declining since Thursday. In the last five days, petrol prices are down by Rs 1.38 paise while diesel is lower by 81 paise.
