Producer council issues red card to comedian Vadivelu

Legendary comedian Vadivelu has been banned from acting in Tamil cinema. The Tamil Film Producer Council has apparently issued a red card to actor-comedian Vadivelu after he refused to pay Rs 9 crore loss incurred by the makers of ‘Imsai Arasan 24 am  Pulikesi’. The decision has been taken after Vadivelu refused to budge to an amicable solution in the controversy he has with director Shankar.  Shankar had earlier approached TFPC to solve the issue.

There had been complaints on Vadivelu for the denial of acting in Imsai Arasan 24 am Pulikesi.  Director Shankar paid a huge sum to Vadivelu as part of the remuneration. Further, huge sets were erected for the shooting. The actor walked out of ‘Imsai Arasan 24 am  Pulikesi’ and refused to come to the shooting spot citing that the production house insulted his costume designer. According to sources, the TFPC has asked its members not to approach Vadivelu in future. Twelve years ago comedy actor Vadivelu starred in a movie called ‘Imsai Arasan 23 am Pulikesi’ which was a super hit in the box office in 2006.
