Rajya Sabha approves TDP MPs’ move to join BJP

Rajya Sabha has recognised four TDP MPs as BJP members. Talking to media in New Delhi on Friday Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said, Rajya Sabha chairman’s office has informed that the four names have been added to the BJP list. They will be recognised as BJP members in the Rajya Sabha.

The four TDP MPs in Rajya Sabha – Y S Chowdary, C M Ramesh, G Mohan Rao and T G Venkatesh, met Rajya Sabha chairman Venkaiah Naidu on Friday and handed him a letter seeking the merger of TDP Legislature Party with the BJP. They also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi last evening.

Earlier, two Rajya Sabha members and three Lok Sabha members of Telugu Desam Party met the Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, to challenge the defection of their erstwhile colleagues to Bharatiya Janata Party.
