The 52-year-old raked in Rs 253.25 crore between October 1, 2017, and September 30, 2018, becoming the country’s highest paid celeb for the third consecutive year because of his blockbuster films, many brand endorsements and television projects.
Interestingly, on the second spot is not an actor but a cricketer. With Rs 228.09 crore earnings, it’s Virat Kohli. Akshay Kumar (Rs 185 crore) follows next. Notably, Deepika Padukone has become the first woman to feature in the top 5 of this list ever since it was created in 2012.
She features at No. 4. with Rs 112.8 crore earnings— because of Padmaavat movie and her many brand endorsements. At No. 5 is Mahendra Singh Dhoni with total earnings worth Rs 101.77 crore. The usual suspects—Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, Sachin Tendulkar and Ajay Devgn—follow next in the top 10 list.
Shah Rukh Khan has fallen out of the top 10 list. With no movie releases in 2017, Shah Rukh Khan, who was at the second spot on the 2017 Forbes India Celebrity list, fell out of the top 10. His earnings were down 33 percent this year, at Rs 56 crore from endorsements, placing him at rank 13 on the list.
