Satish Sana, the Hyderabad-based businessman, who has accused CBI special director Rakesh Asthana of taking bribe has sought protection after being summoned by the investigation agency for questioning. Alleging that his life was under threat, Sana demanded that his questioning should take place under the supervision of a retired judge.
“The applicant fears that he will be intimidated and threatened to withdraw or modify his statement already made. In case the CBI is permitted to question him without supervision, the applicant also fears an imminent threat to his life and personal liberty,” Sana has said in his plea. Sana had filed a complaint against Asthana and alleged that he had paid a bribe of Rs 2 crore to Asthana, the former CBI special director.
