Senior singer and music director KBK Mohan Raju’s voice has gone silent

Ever since Filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao’s death, the Telugu film industry is witnessing the death of several wellknown personalities on a regular basis.

On Friday at about 6 pm in Hyderabad, senior film and All India Radio singer KBK Mohan Raju breathed his last. He was 65.

Raju was a contemporary of Ghantasala, Balamuralikrishna, Suseela, S Janaki and others. He began his 5 decades singing journey with Akashavani (All India Radio) and then in Doordarshan, where he even composed music for several radio/TV dramas, skits and other programes.

He was known more for light music and folk songs.

He sang songs for films like Poolarangadu, Tahasildaru Gari Abbaee, Sakshi and Inspectorgari Bharya. He was also famous for his Gazals.

He was associated with several theatre and cultural groups in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

His death is a great loss for the industry.
