Steve Smith and David Warner return to action in World Cup warm-up match

A one-day warm-up match between Australia and New Zealand XI at Brisbane yesterday marked a return of Steve Smith and David Warner to international cricket after their ball-tampering bans. A small crowd warmly welcomed Smith and Warner during the game.

Smith celebrated his return with a superb one-handed diving catch at short mid-on to remove Tom Latham. Smith and Warner have been picked for the first time since serving year-long bans for their part in the Sandpaper-gate, ball-tampering scandal in Cape Town that rocked Australian cricket.
