Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said that his Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is ready to support a no-confidence motion against the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA government.
TDP’s politburo is expected to take a decision on pulling out of the alliance today.
The TDP president Chandrababu Naidu informed the state legislative assembly that his party is ready to back the no-trust motion.
On Thursday, YSR Congress Party, the principal opposition party in Andhra Pradesh, had submitted a notice to move the no-confidence motion against the NDA government in Lok Sabha.
YSRCP alleged that the Central government has gone back on the commitment made in the Parliament that Andhra Pradesh will be accorded the special category status.
Later, while interacting with TDP MPs and then addressing a public meeting, Chandrababu slammed actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan for his bitter attack on the TDP.
Pawan, who is the president of Jana Sena Party, at a public meeting on Wednesday slammed the TDP for betraying the people of Andhra Pradesh.
He also made allegations of corruption against the TDP government.
