Owing to the heat wave conditions in Telangana, around 13,000 private schools are expected to extend summer vacation.
On Wednesday members of the Telangana State Recognised School Management Association (TRSMA) took a unanimous decision to postpone the reopening date in view of prevailing heatwave conditions across the state. Majority of private state-run schools in Telangana will reopen on June 11.
” We have decided to reopen the schools on June 11 considering that the heatwave conditions may have severe effect on students’ health, especially those in the districts where the temperature is too high,” Srinivas Reddy, president of TRSMA, said.
He also said that the lost working days will be compensated in the form of reduction of the number of days for Dasara and Sankranthi holidays along with taking classes on second Saturdays.
In this regard a representation was also submitted to the deputy chief minister and education minister Kadiyam Srihari.
